This event is sanctioned by USA Track and Field (USATF) and USA Cycling. Dogs, bikes, rollerblades, wagons, strollers, etc, are NOT allowed on the courses. All courses are open to normal traffic, which is very light. Please be mindful of the course monitors, they are there for your safety.
Complete Timing uses RFID chip timing. The timing chip is adhered to the back of your assigned bib. Do not bend, crumple, or attempt to remove the chip. This will cause damage and you will not receive a finish time. Your bib should be worn in the center of the front of your shirt. If your bib is not visible at the finish line, you will not receive a finish time. Do NOT exchange bib numbers with anyone. Your personal information is assigned to your number in the timing system. Any changes MUST be reported 30 minutes prior to start time race day. NOTE: NO Bandits!! You must have your bib visible at the finish line to receive your finisher's medal. No bib, no medal.
USATF recommends against using headphones while running. If you decide to wear headphones, be sure you can hear traffic, other runners, and course monitors for your safety and the safety of others.
There is a 5 hour time limit for the 29K run, which is a
16:40 minute/mile pace.
Water/Aid Stations & Portable Restrooms
Water, first aid, and restrooms will be available approximately every 2 miles along the course.

If you are fortunate enough to encounter some of our local wildlife while out on the course there are a few things to remember.
The desert tortoise is protected. Please do not disturb them.
Coyotes are very common. If you see one in the distance, just make loud noises and it will scurry away.

Twentynine Palms is home to the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, the military's largest training base. The city is rooted with a deep military history dating back to its foundation.
Enjoy the beauty of the desert and the incredible views by hiking the many trails of Joshua Tree National Park.
